Habitat: grasslands, heaths, rocky hills, sea-cliffs, sandy soils
Distribution: throughout Europe, except in the far north
Notes: Locally abundant variable species that attracts many species of bees, wasps, flies, beetles, butterflies and moths.The Jasione montana is the only Jasione species to be found in the Netherlands and in Belgium.
